It’s been awhile, but I’m back with my Brewery Tour series! Now disclaimer, we visited this brewery back in November but it’s still fresh in my mind! So here we go!
Stop number four on the Jessamack brewery tour is the Oozlefinch Craft Brewery. This place was a spur of the moments decision during our day and I’m really glad we stopped! Located on Fort Monroe, VA (81 Patch Rd, Fort Monroe, VA 23651) it’s a must stop if you happen to be checking out the fort that day.

Now you might be wondering what the name means, because I mean yes I was wondering also when I heard the name. If I even tried to describe it I would butcher it so here is the story right from the side of their building.

I mean how cool is it that this brewery is named after a local urban legend?! There definitely aren’t a lot of places like it.

We wen’t pretty close to when they opened so it wasn’t very crowded which was nice for being able to check the place out. It was pretty large and extremely open. The bar mantle was made of slabs of wood which was really nice looking (and fun fact taken from a local historic mansion). Downside is the mantles weren’t very flat so you had to carefully place your beer down.
The beer choices were different and they all had fun names. To be honest I don’t remember which beer I drank and I’m a poor blogger for not writing it down, but I am 80% sure it was the Innovative Agitator (Belgian Style Blonde Ale). I can tell you it was very good.

There wasn’t any food available while we were there but they do have a food truck on the regular (check their events page to see which truck will be out!) which is located directly outside. Outside you’ll also find picnic tables, corn hole and a large grassy area. Best part you are free to bring your doggos!

I’m kind of jelly of the people that live on the Fort since they could basically walk to this brewery whenever they please.
Have a look at their current beers on tap!
