Hotel review comin at ya!
Cabana Bay Beach Resort is located at Universal Orlando Resort and it’s probably one of my all-time favorite hotels.

It’s on the cheaper end of the hotels in the area but it definitely doesn’t seem like it should be. Its charm lies in its 50s theming. Bright reds, greens, yellows, oranges and blues make up the color scheme here and the retro music and decor really set you back in time.

There are a bunch of different styles of rooms at this resort. You have your standard rooms, family suites and then the Volcano Bay tower rooms. Come September, I’ll have experienced all three types of rooms. This most recent time, we had a family suite and I really do love them. They sleep up to 6 people, have a kitchenette, a “living room”, separate toilet/shower, two sinks, and a large dividing door for privacy.

There are FOUR bars at this resort. Two pool side bars (one at each pool, and yes there are two pools), one at the BOWLING ALLEY and one in the lobby. Yes you did read that correctly there is a bowling alley at this resort.
The pool bars are pretty awesome in their own way. The specialty drinks are served in pool-safe souvenir cups, meaning you can bring your cup in the pool and it will be safe (for the most part) from pool water. And the best part, when you go back for a refill they are cheaper. Yay souvenir cups!
The drinks are so good. They do not skimp on the alcohol.
Both pools are equally good. One has a lazy river (you need to supply your own tube, if you don’t have one you can buy one there for around $8) and the other has a slide. I don’t think I prefer either pool over the other. I think the pool with the lazy river is slightly bigger but don’t quote me on that.
Cabana also has a Starbucks so have no fear, you’ll be able to get your fill of caffeine first thing in the morning. And you can get all your food from the Bayliner Diner. It’s you standard hotel food court similar to those at the value and moderate resorts at Disney. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and late night pizza delivery.

Other great reasons to stay at Cabana other than the price, you get early park admission and it’s a great place to stay if you have kids. There is plenty to do at the resort and they also have an arcade.
This was a quick one-night stay so I didn’t get to take photos of everything this resort has to offer. When we go back in September for our Horror Nights stay, I will do my best to take more photos and update this post! We are staying in a Volcano Bay view room and I am most excited!
Sorry for the pretty terrible photos, it was nighttime and I didn’t have the best lighting anywhere.
